will be effective 10/4/99. The new name is being coordinated in

Fonar Corp. (NASDAQ/FONR -- CS 1/93) will sell open MRI
scanners to its wholly-owned physician & diagnostic imaging management
subsidiary, Health Management Corporation of America (HMCA). The
first one, the new Fonar QUADTM High-Field Open MRI, was leased
to a center in Garden City, NY 9/22/99. Chairman Dr. Damadian says
"Our return on investment by installing Fonar equipment in a HMCA-managed
facility will be substantially greater than the one-time profit
we realize on the sale of an MRI scanner."
