Hurricane Floyd: We were among the 2 million people who
had to evacuate -- that horror story caused us to lose a week --
thus this issue will be on line late Monday, October 4, 1999 rather
than on Friday, October 1, 1999 -- we made up most of the time by
burning midnight & weekend oil. Fortunately, we suffered only minor
damage.
In-Between Issue Updates: I've received requests for timely
updates in between issues plus key information on special situations
I am following.
We will do as asked. It will not involve additional cost to you.
To do it, we need your e-mail address. Please fax it to us at 843-705-5592,
or e-mail it to us at up415@aol.com -- just say you're a Conservative
Speculator subscriber & want e-mail updates. We'll start sending
e-mails when we receive a reasonable number of e-mail addresses.
Editorial Comment: I've gotten many calls indicating you
particularly like my Sneak Previews. I'm therefore giving each a
bit more space, & including a greater number of them. In each issue,
I will give special attention to one Special Situation that I feel
requires a more complete treatment to get the "nut" of the situation
across. It will be called the "Situation of the Month." There may
be some occasions when I cover two such situations.
WallStreetCorner.com: Check out "Larry Oakley's Opinion"
while you are at WallStreetCorner. I will be changing that section
more often -- it's another way in addition to the planned e-mail
communications to get special information & my personal opinion
on things to you in between issues.
Incidentally, we feel strongly that participation by public companies
on www.WallStreetCorner.com is one of the most effective things
a company's management can do for their shareholders. If you have
a position in a company you feel would benefit from having greater
exposure to financial professionals & investors worldwide, please
suggest that someone at the company call us at 843-705-5591, fax
us at 843-705-5592, or e-mail us at up415@aol.com. Thank you.

...continued from page one
The site focuses on empowering the average investor to invest
knowledgeably in those emerging equity companies
|
that have under $300 million in sales. It provides independent
editorial on mid- to small-cap companies. The strategic difference
between W3OTC's portal & the "research" sites like nasdaq.com is
that the investor must arrive at a research site with a company
or stock symbol that was previously discovered elsewhere. WOTC's
site is the "elsewhere."
The site remains active while in the process of re-design. It
is being updated & will be re-launched as "www.Emerging Equities.com."
The site's targeted market is the projected 1.5 million active
on-line investors expected by the year 2000. The expectation is
actually for 15 million online investors, but only about 10% of
them are expected to do 12 or more trades a year.
This segment consists of educated, wealthy, computer literate people.
One demographic estimate is that 64% have a household net worth
above $100,000, 22% have an annual household income above $100,000,
54% are between 36 & 55 years old, & 78% are college educated.
History
W3OTC, Inc. (dba W3OTC.com), incorporated originally as Kingston
Financial Corp. 8/10/93, adopted its present name 2/25/97. It is
an outgrowth of The Investment Reporter, a monthly small-cap investment
newspaper published since 1989.
Business/Products
W3OTC.com acts as a portal to emerging equities. It enables under-discovered
& undervalued public companies to cost effectively attract new shareholders
on a global basis. It empowers the investor in the three phases
of the investment process: discovery, research, & investing.
The difference is discovery; W3OTC's search engine targets only
profitable, small-cap companies, which remain fairly undiscovered
outside of their local geographic area. Investors no longer have
to be toppled by waves of research information, which drowns them
in charts & trade jargon, frequently on marginal companies. W3OTC
provides only useful, actionable information updated daily by the
editorial staff of The Investment Reporter, which has provided critical
news to financial professionals for over 10 years.
Such notable entities as Standard & Poor's, WallStreetCorner.com,
Inc., & Zack's Research are among the constantly expanding strategic
alliances insuring that timely, critical information is available
to the investor.
