rapidly improve a client's competitive position in the crowded
Internet market through the development of innovative business strategies
powered by the integration of emerging & existing technologies.
Unlike large e-business development companies currently crowding
the Internet services Industry, DBGI focuses on small to mid-sized
niche companies. Typically, these smaller companies are in desperate
need of personalized, full-service access to e-business solutions
but lack budgets typical of large clients. If these small companies
expect to compete in the economy of the 21st Century with the large,
established Internet giants, they need to aggressively develop unique,
functional e-business web solutions.
As the number of Internet users continues to grow (the online
population is expected to reach 142 million by 2002), & consumer
confidence in e-commerce continues to grow, DBGI will grow as well.
The future of the e-commerce economy is promising & DBGI is prepared
to capitalize on the exponential growth of this expanding commercial
medium.
DBGI, a portfolio company of M&A West (OTC BB/MAWI) which took
DBGI public 2/14/2000, won the "Best of" award at the Internet Commerce
Expo in San Francisco, & will attend the Hong Kong Information Infrastructure
Expo. & Conference MAWI 3/2000 & the Internet World 2000 in Los
Angeles 4/2000. MAWI owns 3.9 million shares of DBGI, which adds
about $50 million to MAWI's assets.
DBGI on 2/28/2000 licensed BioEngineT from Identix Inc. (AMEX/IDX
-- CS Sneak 5/99). This allows DBGI to market Identix's fingerprint
authentication technology & hardware products & to equip sites that
maintain personal & confidential information (online banking & lending
for example). Call Aaron C. Lang at DBGI @ 650-552-0600, or Scott

Environmental Solutions Worldwide, Inc. (OTC BB/ESWW) developed
a new way to reduce automobile emissions. It's much less expensive
than catalytic converters, which use platinum.
ESWW's unit is called "Enviro Cat(TM)." It works on all three
fuel types -- unleaded gasoline, leaded gasoline, & diesel. The
patented technology was created by Dr. Bruno Liber, who spent 40
years in R&D in the catalytic converter industry. The technology
used reduces the nitrous oxide (creates global warming) & other
toxic emissions put out by present converters.
On 12/10/97, 150 countries agreed to combat global warming from
1990 levels between 2008 & 2012. Japan agreed to reduce its greenhouse
emissions by 6%, the U.S. by 7%, & the European Union by 8%. ESWW
appears to have a very good chance to help.
The Enviro Cat(C) consists of a housing unit with an exhaust gas
inlet & outlet & a sintered, porous catalytic body that is self-sustaining.
The body is composed of a mixture of ceramic & ESWW's proprietary
formula for effecting absorption of undesired
|
compounds. The formula is a combination of base metals & non-metallic
compounds that cost significantly less than the materials in present
converters. A further reduction in cost occurs because the various
materials are premixed & then extruded through a high-powered piston
press to make the finished cake -- there is no need for the second
production step now used to coat the ceramic cakes with high pressure
metals.
Initial prototype testing was performed by an EPA recognized lab
7/99. One of the advantages is the fact that the new converters
will reduce emissions on immediate startup, whereas present designs
are ineffective during the first 10 minutes -- they have to reach
a high operating temperature to create the catalyst needed. Various
models are being developed for both automotive & non-automotive
applications. Equipment for producing the converters is being ordered.

Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ/SMSI) develops & sells
e-commerce & communications software that facilitates communication
through multimedia technologies over Internet, broadband, & analog
platforms. It enables personal communication through telephony,
fax, multimedia e-mail, data, wireless, paging, video security,
& video conferencing. It sells through retail stores, value-added
resellers (VARs), OEMs, & direct.
SMSI specialized in fax modems until 1998. Seeing the huge potential
the Internet provided, it sensibly changed direction, & shipped
its first Internet communication software 9/98. It is continuing
to expand its web & e-commerce development services.
Its WebCatalogTM e-commerce & Web publishing software is the software
of choice for many award winning sites, both large & small, throughout
the world. Some examples: Pillsbury's DoughboyShop.com, Jamminlink.com,
MacTreasures.com, Ancestor.com, DigitalCarpenters.com, NokiaAccessories.com,
American-Gear.com, Pop-Art.com, CyberLive.com, & Electronic-E-Commerce.com.
The WebCatalogTM software began shipping about 11/99. I consider
SMSI's revenues for Q4 ended 12/31/99 at $2,457,000, with a loss
of ($980,000) to reflect part of its transition period. I predict
operations will move into the black sometime late this year as sales
of the new software grows. In the last few weeks, it began staffing
its branch offices around the country with web/e-commerce sales
consultants.
This strategy represents a key component of its plan to parley
its five-plus years of e-commerce expertise & more recent strength
in Internet & e-commerce software into a position as one of the
industry's premier e-business consulting arms. Call 949-362-5800,
