Bahamas '99 Conference: At the conference on 6/16, I spoke
at two sessions, in which I discussed three trends & recommended
the attendies check out specific special situations. Here's a brief
overview:
Trend 1. Internet Stocks: While the bloom is temporarily
down a bit, the long-term outlook is very good. See my comments
in the Sneak Preview this month on M&A West, Inc. (OTC BB/MAWI).
My friend Ken Coleman, in his talk at the conference, noted that
about $301 billion transpired on the Internet last year, & created
about 40% of the new jobs in the U.S. The Internet volume was about
$5 million back in 1994, & is expected to reach $1.3 trillion in
2003. Ken said one fact about the Internet is that every statistic
will be obsolete within three months because of its rapid growth.
Trend 2. Move to a Customer-Based Economy: We are in a
new economy. The customer has been gaining control. Decisions regarding
what to manufacture & the characteristics of the products are now
largely determined by the customer. Companies that recognize this
will do much better than those that do not. See my comments in the
Sneak Preview in the June 1999 issue regarding TeleTech Holdings,
Inc. (NASDAQ/TTEC).
Trend 3. Energy Change: The reserves of fossil fuels are
finite. They will be depleted. Hydrogen, on the other hand, is essentially
infinite because of its vast supply from oceans on this planet.
See my recommendation of DCH Technology, Inc. (OTC BB/DCHT) in the
June 1999 issue. Bottom line: Hydrogen fuel cells will replace fossil
fuels for powering cars over the next decade. That will greatly
extend the remaining reserves of fossil fuel, allowing it to be
used for lubrication, & for making plastics & rubber. It will also
save the environment & extend the time this planet will be able
to sustain human, animal, & plant life.
Since returning from the Bahamas, I interviewed Centraxx Inc.
& can add another trend -- see my recommendation in this issue.

WallStreetCorner: Some of you requested a simple way to
download CS from www.WallStreetCorner.com. We complied. You can
now download a "Word" file of the entire current issue of Conservative
Speculator all at once without having to go page by page. Please
tell your friends about WallStreetCorner, & if you know of a company
that would benefit by having strong Internet exposure, have them
call Rosanne at 843-705-5591. If no answer, ask them to call again,
because that's our private number, & we're away at times.
Steve Forbes Luncheon: Rosanne & I have been invited to
host a luncheon for Steve Forbes in September. We accepted, & will
hold it on Hilton Head. We're waiting for Linda Pell, Steve's Deputy
Director of Finance, to set a specific date.
The purpose is to have give Steve the opportunity to meet with
CEOs of small public companies to discuss those matters that most
concern small business. Limited to 25, invitees will each contribute
$1,000 to his campaign. If you are, or are friendly with, a CEO,
president, or chairman of a small-cap public company that would
like to be invited, please call Rosanne or I at 843-705-5591, or
fax us at 843-705-5592. We invited a few so far, but are letting
you know of the opportunity before inviting others. Please call
us before July 16th.

DHB Capital
Group, Inc.
Overview
...cannot help but notice the body armor worn by the "good guys."
The law enforcement community has embraced the concept of body armor
vigorously over the past few decades & many lives have been saved
as a result. The corrections community & the military also joined
the movement & are issuing bullet & projectile resistant garments
to their people.
The DHB Armor Group, Inc., one of three portions of DHBT, is the
dominant industry leader in soft & hard body armor used by the military,
federal, state, & local law enforce-ment agencies, & federal & state
correctional facilities.
History
Originally incorporated in NY in 1992 by David H. Brooks, DHBT
was reincorporated in DE in 1995. It acquired Protective Apparel
Corporation of America in 1992, Point Blank Body Armor, Inc. in
1995, & Zunblindage SA, a privately held Belgian body armor corporation
in 1997.
DHBT entered the protective sports apparel, fitness, & orthopedic
product businesses with the 1994 acquisitions of NDL Products, Inc.,
& Orthopedic Products, Inc. (OPI) in 1996. In 1998, it acquired
two privately held companies: (1) Lanxide Electronic Components,
Inc., manufacturer of a unique, patented thermal management packaging
& structural component; & (2) DHB KK, a Japanese subsidiary that
markets Lanxide's products in Japan.
